work

I program artificial intelligence for video games for the independent, Gateshead-based driving games studio Eutechnyx.

education

In 2008 I completed my PhD in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Newcastle University, studying group theory with a specific interest in cryptography. My supervisor was Andrew Duncan.

My thesis is entitled Aspects of Braid Group Cryptography. It focuses on the cryptanalysis of the authentication protocol involving shifted conjugacy of braids proposed by Dehornoy. Much of the work was completed in collaboration with Sasha Ushakov. If it's a subject you're interested in, feel free to email me for a copy.
